Source-Version: 2.6.0-1
Severity: wishlist

Hi!

The python3-gpumodules binary package embeds a copy of the pci.ids
database. This database is now packaged on its own source and binary
packages, so that it can be updated more regularly, and so that
dependencies do not need to pull in the entire pciutils package (which
was what provided this database until recently).

Please switch to use the pci.ids package instead of carrying this
embedded copy.

The ricks-amdgpu-utils binary package ships an amdgpu-pciid tool to
update this embedded copy. If you switch the current amd_pci_id.txt
into a symlink, I guess it would make sense to disable the tool to
avoid stomping over the contents of another binary package.

Thanks,
Guillem
