The debian/rules is using "DH_COMPAT=6" to redefine the compat level in
debian/rules:

"""
	# User lower compatibility to avoid installing [...]
 	DH_COMPAT=6 dh_installchangelogs
"""

That bit will fail once debhelper stops supporting compat 6.
