I just uploaded Aurelien's patch and some other debian package updates to the libticables salsa repo at https://salsa.debian.org/science-team/libticables/. When the next upstream release is ready, I will remove the patch from the debian folder.

Aurelien, thank you for submitting the patch! Are you able to upload these updates into debian? I do not have debian developer privileges (but am hoping to in the near future!).
