I take a quick look at the sources. It requires a more recent hdf5 version (1.12 if I rember correctly).
I thought that Salome 9.11 was build on top of med 5 but this is not the case.
The upgrade is not urgent.. Maybe we shall contact Salome upstream to now when they plan to upgrade to med 5
before moving on this issue.
