The above upstream report suggests that this is because netcdf-python is 
no longer thread-safe.

The 3 random-autopkgtest-fail bugs (this, #1064326 and #1064370) 
together seem to be more common in pandas 2.  It's possible that some of 
them are actually the same underlying bug.
