Hi Maintainer

skimage FTBFS with Python 3.12 as the default version (i.e. with
python3-defaults/3.12.1-1 from experimental).

Please see the patch below to use the vendored distutils in setuptools
instead of trying to use the one from stdlib, which is no longer
available in Python 3.12
