>Hi @debian-science-maintainers at lists.alioth.debian.org<mailto:debian-science-maintainers at lists.alioth.debian.org> team , I am Suman from Qualcomm's CV team . Recently we enabled Fastcv based Opencv Extensions and are part of Opencv 4.12.0 onwards. Currently in the latest Canonical Ubuntu, we got to know that opencv 4.10.0 is there(comes from Debian repos) and wanted to know if it is possible to upgrade the opencv version to 4.12.0 ? . Also wanted to know if there are any plans to upgrade Opencv version from 4.10.0 to 4.12.0 ?

Note that neither Debian nor Ubuntu will update OpenCV to a new ABI
version in a stable release (which would be the case with 4.12.0) so all
we can do is updating opencv in the _next_ Debian/Ubuntu release. The
next Debian release is due in roughly two years so there is still a lot
of time for this. You could work on it if you want it earlier.

Cheers Jochen
