Dear Maintainer,
The lua5.4 build dependency is unused.
lxi-tools embeds Lua through the C API. Meson discovers and links the Lua
development library provided by liblua5.4-dev, and the source calls functions
such as luaL_newstate(), luaL_openlibs(), and luaL_dofile(). The `lxi run`
command evaluates scripts through this embedded interpreter; the build does
not execute the external lua5.4 or luac5.4 programs.
I rebuilt the package in a clean Debian unstable environment after removing
only lua5.4 from Build-Depends, while retaining liblua5.4-dev. The configure,
compile, test, and packaging stages completed successfully. The installed
payload matched the baseline build file by file, and tracing showed no access
to files provided by the lua5.4 package.
The attached patch removes lua5.4 from Build-Depends.
Regards,
haoran wang
