I filed an ITP bug for rpy2-2.8: https://bugs.debian.org/874339

Dirk, if you want to be the maintainer or in the Uploaders list let me
know. Could make sense given that rpy2 sometimes needs rebuilds for new
R versions. Otherwise I'll upload a package soon.
