great!

You target unstable in the changelog, I think it would be better to upload to experimental first and upload to unstable together with sagemath 8.2.
The soname of givaro does not change (at least the name of the package libgivaro9), so there should be no transition necessary. However, in the past these three programs needed to be updated together so I would be careful. Also sagemath needs a few code changes for the update [1]. Do you agree with uploading to experimental?

Why do you need givaro to be uploaded to prepare the other packages? If it's just for building with sbuild, you can simply use the option --extra-package to specify a folder with the extra packages you want to include.
