On Debian Testing with system ecl testing I get

binary-ecl/maxima-package.fas is old or does not exist.

which is not a surprise, as the (unpatched, apparently) ecl used by
Debian is not compatible with gcc 15.
It's a Debian bug, I think.
They can use our patches in  build/pkgs/ecl/patches/ to make it work.
