This thread is lacking another proposal.

Put several columns for Debian: experimental, unstable, testing and 
stable. In each column put either "missing" or the version as text. For 
the color, follow a simple scheme with pure colors going this way:
  missing (red)
  major lag (orange)
  minor lag (yellow)
  up to date (green)
  higher (blue)
and use a lighter shade of the pure color if it's in NEW and not in the 
archive yet.

Indeed, it can also be interesting to see how our packages progress 
within Debian.
