The concerning singular is certainly due to the recent (forced) transition
from readline6 to readline7. I should check, I am agree. But it was not necessary
to forward to issue to upstream: I regularly forward them patches and issues via
GitHub; they were certainly not aware of the forced migration.

Whatever, I am working on it as it is in fact an RC issue.
