I did use PARI 2.9.0 but I was using lcalc/eclib that were still compiled against an older PARI version, I think. The newer lcalc/eclib got uploaded to Debian some time earlier today/yesterday. I've run the tests again, the "idealappr" errors have gone, but there's still about 4000 errors:

New:
$ debian/rules failed-tests-by-error | grep ideal
1 TypeError: P must be an ideal
1 ValueError: Only left and two-sided ideals are allowed.
2 ValueError: The differential does not preserve the ideal
8 TypeError: First parameter must be an ideal in a g-algebra.
Old:
$ debian/rules failed-tests-by-error | grep ideal
1 TypeError: P must be an ideal
1 ValueError: Only left and two-sided ideals are allowed.
2 ValueError: The differential does not preserve the ideal
8 TypeError: First parameter must be an ideal in a g-algebra.
53 TypeError: idealappr() takes exactly one argument (2 given)
