Yes and there are 300 more linbox related and another 1000 or so are
failures with NameError that might be also caused by this. I guess when
we fix linbox, the number of failing tests should be managable again.
I'm now at 2800 after applying the pari patches (and using the old
singular package).
There are several upstream linbox bugs where charpoly is mentioned.
There's also this sage issue:

And test-charpoly in linbox fails on i386 in Debian.
I'm just wondering why this started to show with sage 7.4.
