Yes, the NVD data currently does not get updated automatically due to
#762069. I'm still looking into it, as I think fetching the NVD data
would still be desirable at least (so we get full descriptions of CVEs
from NVD presented in the Description field).

(No strong opinion about the remote field to be displayed or not).
