Package: libxerces23
Version: 2.3.0-1
Severity: important

I still get the same error as described in bug #189463 (i.e. it has
not been fixed in libxerces 2.3 contrary to what has been said):

==> tst.dtd <==

==> tst.xml <==

$ xalan -IN tst.xml -XSL tst.xsl

XMLException Type is: TranscodingException
Message is: An invalid multi-byte source text sequence was encountered
zsh: exit 253 xalan -IN tst.xml -XSL tst.xsl

and xalan is now linked with libxerces 2.3:

$ dpkg -s xalan

Setting the severity to important since:
  1. this is a regression;
  2. this bug affects most XML documents containing non-English language.
