[xml/sgml-pkgs] Bug#782708: sgml-base: fails to configure

Version: 1.26+nmu4
Severity: serious

The package doesn't install cleanly in a minimal chroot environment:

root at myserv:~# dpkg --configure -a
Setting up sgml-base (1.26+nmu4) ...
chown: invalid group: ‘root:staff’
dpkg: error processing package sgml-base (--configure):
  subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit 
status 1

Apparently the post-inst script assumes the group 'staff' is present.

Am I missing something?
