OK, I didn't remember that two unrelated bugs were discussed in the
same thread.

For #766884, I think that it should be closed after a non-regression
test is added in the Debian package (to make sure that it doesn't
reappear silently) if this is not already done. After all, the
problem is on the upstream side now.

And handle #781232 in a similar way: fix + non-regression test, then
the bug can be closed.
