We have a simple script, that parses all debian/watch files in the
debichem SVN and then sends a mail to our list. So I already know, that
there is a new version.

But the latest Debian package already contains several (probably the
most) important fixes from this new release. So packaging the latest
release is delayed until next year. Ditto for gchempaint.
