I think any effort in abinit could be independent from your NM status.  I'm
running a sponsoring effort at

and abinit fits perfectly.

Yes it is.  It was basically merged into Debian Science.  You can not
register on alioth any more (you can not even see the alioth page of the
project).  Yesterday I was inspecting the SVN for some stuff which is
worth keeping.  Abinit was not in VCS anyway (which is bad).

As far as I have understood Christophe in previous postings he is fine
with the move from pkg-scicomp to other projects.  The discussion about
this on the related mailing list is about two years old.

It would be nice to have some statement of DebiChem team members whether
to use SVN or Git (or whether they would prefer to not have it in
DebiChem but rather Debian Science).  Both would be fine for me.
