Dear Debichem team members,

I've joined the Debichem team, and I would like to introduce myself.

I've discovered Linux in 1998 with RedHat and SUSE. At this time, I've discovered too the free software philosophy through the "Brave Gnu World" initiative. I was astonished by the quality of the available softwares, the power of the packaging system (rpm, red carpet)... but this was nothing compared to apt and dpkg. Furthermore, the Debian project and its social contract was fitting perfectly my opinions about free softwares, so I switched to Debian Potato.
At this time (early 2000s), I was writing softwares for population genetics. Some of them are packaged by the Debian Med team that I've tried to help a little bit.

I must confess that I was also since 2004 an Ubuntu user, even if I have not entirely dropped Debian. I thought that it was a good thing for "human beings"... this has come to an end for me last year.

Anyway, since 2004, I am developing mass spectrometry softwares for PAPPSO [1] in the "UMR de Génétique Végétale" [2]. Filippo Rusconi, as you know, as started a great work to support these softwares through Debichem, and I would like to join now your team to support this initiative.

Best regards,

Olivier
