It's from openmpi-bin, but it's just a wrapper around g++ that sets
appropriate flags, and should not be interfering with any output.  I
also can't reproduce that failure, by creating a link failure at that
specific point (setting it to link against a nonexistent library) -- the
ld error message appears as normal, passed through mpicxx.openmpi.
Might be something specific to 100% disk usage, I'll experiment further.
