Severity: normal
Hi there!
ThinkFinger is dead upstream for quite 2 years now:
http://thinkfinger.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/thinkfinger/
The natural replacement is fprint, not focused on a single device:
http://reactivated.net/fprint/
Since the FingerForce team has put most of its effort in supporting
fprint, collaborating with the libusb maintainers since DebConf8, there
is no point in keeping a broken software like ThinkFinger (which BTW was
never uploaded to unstable).
According to popcon, it seems that ThinkFinger has some users, who will
be left alone with no migration path. AFAIK such a plan is impossible,
because of the different implementations between ThinkFinger and fprint
and also because they do not share the same fingerprint format.
Thx, bye,
Gismo / Luca
