The libfprint0 present in Debian is quite old.  In parrticular, it
does not work with recent software such as
(with the unfortunately proprietary driver by UPEK and the GPL
fingerprint-gui I can scan and verify my fingerprints).

Packaging libfprint 0.1.0-pre2 is done for Ubuntu :
