> REQUIRED SOFTWARE DOESN'T EXIST.

i'd say
REQUIRED SOFTWARE NEEDS TO BE DEVELOPED TO THE CONCRETE NEEDS.
as - the software around the idea - exist but not focused for the
concrete mega-project
like FBX may be.

generally - i agree with your opinion,
given that i'v seen the comments - that
FBX would start from packaging existent Debian packages,
and many of interesting conceptions could be abandoned.

Maybe you - would start some other project for these needs
of active development?

I don't think it's so hard - given that - if the project would be popular
(and it could be - as needs are here) - - many of existing projects
from many areas of interest would
be glad to contribute and "re-compile" for the needs, i think.
While it could work on pair with the current FBX on a one ideology-manifest,
i think - all these projects
could benefit.

PS: my point is - without a clear - motivation - it's impossible to
bring the developers
from all the existing projects to contribute their time for need of
some Debian and some TAC,
if it will look like it is.

without - bringing these developers it's "not wise" to try to make
something worth from their projects.

let's imagine - motivation is "Freedom"
By that - closed mailing lists, discussions on freenode (have you
tried a Tor browser bundle with freenode?) and other creepy things -
should go away, i think, others may think different, that's one of the points
of Freedom ain't it?

let's imagine its not Freedom but some Freedom Project
by that - motivation - could be in money,
i think i should not elaborate on how money help everybody's freedom
in common "society".

So - money driven development - could be productive?
I think so.
So - Foundation could fund elected projects to help with FreedomBox?
I think so.
But who am i, in the end. Let's wait TAC to elect - President and
President to decide on economics,
 foreign policy and ideology?
