I don't think this is a huge barrier personally. You only have to go and subscribe once (+ occasionally as extra lists are added) right? I do agree it's important to encourage cross-group participation but that's a social problem more than a technical one.

So I am +1ing the request to form lists for the other WGs that were laid out by vasile. i.e. -ux,  -network, -model, -config, -apps, -sec, -docs, -platform. If there's a way to make bulk subscription to all of these lists nice and simple that would be great, but personally I'm happy to click subscribe 9 times :)
