It doesn't require any non-free software (it's configured for a Debian
Stable (Squeeze) system with only the main (free) repository enabled).

Whether it loads non-free firmware depends on your device.  If you've
installed and loaded non-free firmware, it'll get used.  If you haven't,
it won't.  It doesn't require or install any firmware at all though,
which is what I think you were getting at.

It runs Debian, so it'll run on just about anything (toasters?), which
is also why the FBX project is using it.  If anybody gets this running
on something other than a Dreamplug, let me know!
