Well, indirectly :-)

I worked with Schaake on a cross party initiative to ask for comments on a common ACTA resolution in November 2010 (which unfortunately we later lost):

The result of that RFC-process was tabled independently by both the Greens/EFA and ALDE:

and was subsequently also re-mixed by others.

I'd say that since then, these issues have run in parallel in most political groups in the EP. EDRi has also played a crucial role in making it possible for all parties to address digital rights issues in a coherent way: http://edri.org/

Still a long way to go though. I hope FreedomBox and Edge the Hedgehog will help us get there :-)

Commission is unfortunately misbehaving on the Free Software front. But I think that will change soon with the high profile project European Citizens Initiative at risk:
