There are several ways to avoid centralized services. One is to host
services on decentralized servers, another is to avoid client-server
architecture altogether and use P2P architectures instead. Yet another
is to completely avoid always-on networking and instead use sneakernet.
The approach used with FreedomBox is that of decentralized servers.
Extremely decentralized: One server per user.
So in the context of FreedomBox your question does not make sense.
