[Freedombox-discuss] What is it for ? Your experience

Hello,

What is a FreedomBox ? And why do you use it now ?

With a journalist background, i came at first to FreedomBox website and 
wiki searching some specific terms on Internet early last month : 
"Debian personal server", "Debian personal mail server". After starting 
reading the wiki and watching conferences online, i had quickly an idea 
about the vision. I had more difficult times to understand what it 
concretely was before reading this document made for the version 0,6 :

After a month, i can explain to others, giving a short or complete 
definition according to their technical knowledge :

Fbx is introduced as a personal server / using free softwares / with 
decentralized communication features, / it can also be a router, / be 
installed on a computer / or SBC / according to cost and convernience 
reasons. A recent post on the mailing list is talking about similarities 
with digital media players potentially.

I am still wondering what is the most common use or if specific projects 
around FreedomBox are already live.
