After I disable the ssl module with "a2dismod ssl" and together with your

> $ sudo /usr/lib/freedombox/setup.d/90_apache2 && sudo service apache2
> restart

I can restart apache2 but see only the Welcome to JWChat page (as https
does not work anymore).

As it is quite late now over here, I will have a closer look tomorrow.
