[Freedombox-discuss] Freedombox-discuss Digest, Vol 70, Issue 20

I recently managed to install my A20_Olinuxino_LIME2. It's my first time
"setting up" a server (because of Freedombox I had the courage to try).

For the moment I use it to host my website (using PageKite to get around
the dynamic ip problem).
I would like to use it for the other useful applications like calendar,
email, bookmarks, sip etc. but I had a lot of trouble installing
Freedombox and enabling PageKite for hosting my website. So I need a
break before I adventure in installing the other services.

I think Freedombox is a crucial project that could give a slight chance
to a more basic independent digital life. Until most people will have
Freedomox along their phone or computer, almost any other effort against
the appropriation of the internet by big companies and governments is
kind of lost useful energy, potential and opportunity.

What I would find useful for engaging more people, is short 3-5 minutes
video screen-recording of a basic setup for each service Freedombox
offers. For now I find it still very technical (incomparable harder than
setting up a google calendar, for example). Thus, with a few hours of
setting up the Freedombox services(and showing their use) while video
recording, one could enable so much more people in using it (and it's so
much more faster and easier than writing endless text instructions).

Cheers
