Dear Contributors,

As discussed on March 27th and May 22nd[1], the FreedomBox project is (re)licensing our wiki content under the Create Commons Attribution Share-Alike 4.0 International license[2].

While a free culture license has always been assumed, Debian wiki, of which FreedomBox wiki is a part of as "Pure Blend" project, does not have a clear license for all its content[3]. It is up to each page, portal or project to choose their license. It has been decided to make FreedomBox's wiki content license more explicit.

This new license applies to manual pages, regular pages for all languages and pages containing the FreedomBox portal banner at the bottom in the namespaces wiki.debian.org/[local-code]/FreedomBox/ and wiki.debian.org/FreedomBox/. The project can accept anonymous contributions.

CONTENT REMOVAL
Many major contributors to the wiki have already agreed to the relicense their contributions during the last progress call and following a blog post published on May 23rd[4]. If you are a contributor to the FreedomBox wiki and agree to the new license, please reply to this mail on the mailing list. If you have concerns or don't wish to relicense your contributions, please specify so that we can remove the content if necessary.

SWITCH: JUNE 13rd
The license will be changed on June 13rd 2016 (2 weeks from now). The new notice will be displayed to FreedomBox wiki footer so that the license automatically applies to all pages old and new. Such as "This page is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike 4.0 International License [link]".
