I'm more of a designer but with the kind help of sunil, joke, njoseph
and others I was able to start hacking on FreedomBox quite quickly on
Ubuntu. (For me the git part remains a real barrier though :P)

I'd try to help you out as far as I can, just get in touch!

It looks like we may end up removing cruft in the template system and
re-arrange it to fit our new UI. In other words: HTML/CSS and python!
