[libhid-discuss] cross-platform capabilities?

Hi,

I am currently looking into libhid as a way to effectively use USB HID 
interfaces, both for getting data from the devices, as sending data to it 
(within the usb hid specs), as the Linux event interface does not support the 
latter very well IMHO.

I also noticed that libhid aims to be cross-platform, which makes it an 
interesting candidate for an alternative to access HID devices in 
SuperCollider, as currently the implementations there are not cross platform.

So my question is: in how far is libhid already usable in a cross platform 
context?
