Why not forget about libhid and libusb all-together for HID device under
Windows? You can use native HID API. There are many examples here.

under Linux, native HID API under Windows and Mac OS X.

libhid is not known to work under Windows as far as I know. Last time
Rob Krakora ported it to Windows and I tested it and it seem to work.
But I have since lost the zip file as my last desktop crashed. And
I do not think it is a good fit for HID device under Windows due to
limitation of libusb-win32.
