Missing configure script?

A little new to this stuff, sorry if this is obvious.

I just got git and then gitted (if that's a word) the libkdtree stuff :

>git clone git://git.debian.org/git/libkdtree/libkdtree.git

And git got stuff. But I noticed I have no configure script, which did exist
(but didn't really work) in the older distros.

So it looks like the git distro is missing something??

Will the old configure script work?
