Practical additions to kdtree library

Dear Paul and Sylvain,

Thank you for being so responsive. We will definitely benchmark KDTrees, and
will pass on any suggestions we have. When the new version is available, I
will be implementing a data mining application that uses nearest-neighbor
searches to choose the next task to execute. Do you know an approximate date
by which *a* version might be ready?
