As a workaround I've since compiled and copied your interface module and the .so file to the python library directories on my system to supercede the ones from the distro.<br>

What would be really awesome would be the use of subclassing and overloading the sorting methods from the base object so each dimension can be sorted like when using the library in c++...thus allowing for a generic implementation instead of kdtree_3f, kdtree_4i, or whatever. Not sure if that level of binding is even possible in python.<br>
