Hi,

I upgraded my system as you suggested and it seems to have fixed the issue.
I have run fslview a good few times now and it hasn't crashed. Also my
atlases were missing before hand and are now back. Below are the specific
versions after upgrading.

fsl-5.0:
  Installed: 5.0.2-4~nd11.04+1
  Candidate: 5.0.2-4~nd11.04+1
  Version table:
 *** 5.0.2-4~nd11.04+1 0
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

fslview:
  Installed: 4.0.1-1~nd11.04+1
  Candidate: 4.0.1-1~nd11.04+1
  Version table:
 *** 4.0.1-1~nd11.04+1 0
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

Thanks again for your help,
Dervla
