generally, if the communication is stuck, resetting the UPS (unplug the
power cord, poweroff the ups, wait a bit and replug everything) is the
way to go.

So, you don't have the original serial cable shipped with the unit.
2 options:
- if you've bought it recently, you might want to exchange it for a NUT
supported unit such as an MGE unit ;-)
- you can contact your reseller or the iBall support to get either a
cable or the wiring

to be understood, I think you might need to ask for a communication
(serial) cable.
