Most likely, the NSM is not accepting the subscription. In order not  
to flood the NSM with connection attempts, the driver will only retry  
once every 180 seconds and continues running in non-subscribed mode as  
a fallback. Run the driver with debugging (-DD) enabled and you'll  
probably see where the subscription goes wrong.
