This shouldn't matter - the NUT USB drivers try to get the Linux HID drivers out of the picture completely (hid-generic, in this case).
What is more enlightening is the rest of the output of usbhid-ups as it starts up. If the log fragment you sent in your other email is all there is, add another "-D", but there should have been a termination message.
