No, that doesn't help either.
It did come with UPSilon2000 software on a CD, for Linux and Mac and
Windows. The Linux software appears to be linked against its own copy of
libusb, but I can't see how to make it actually find and use a USB
device. Perhaps I'll try Windows in a VM. I can't believe the device
really *doesn't* support those commands.
Not the end of the world though; monitoring works, and the important
thing is that it *does* keep the router and telephones running while the
mains power is out. The point of the thing is to keep stuff *on*, so not
being able to turn it *off* is not something I'm going to lose sleep
over.
