I've not applied this one, and instead committed my local changes that
also includes HP updates.
(committed to trunk, r3573, with a mention of redundancy with your patch #6).

FYI, the fact that it's tracked is another lazyness from me,
permitting for any update to pop up quickly.
this in turns triggers the send of a diff to Richard Hughes (UPower
maintainer)...

the holy grail here is something fully automated (commit hook or
BuildBot step) to report this, with the file being untracked...
