arnaud,

sorry for not responding so long. in the meantime I managed to get the
serial ports on the atom mainboard working, but this "ground loop"
still persists, allthough there is neither a ground nor a loop (and
the IVT manufacturer isn't very helpful, unfortunately).

Interesting to know. have you informed them that they would get support for mostly all OSs except windows (but they already support it)?

considering these info, the entry I'll submit in the compat list is the following:
"IVT" "scd" "1" "SCD series" "" "ivtscd"

the "1" means that the support level is "
I tried to rpmbuild the current nut package under centos5 from a
fedora(?) SRPM, but as soon as I overcome an obstacle, the next one
shows up. I'm about to give up and just do a ./configure; make; make
install to get nut running in the next few days and hopefilly provide
you with the upcs output.

for testing purpose, you can run the component (driver, upsd, upsmon) from the source tree.

Now since you came with the first NUT supported SCD, I've made a src.rpm for you:
http://opensource.mgeops.com/stable/sources/nut-2.4.1-8.1.src.rpm

it's limited to the nut (only including ivtscd) and the nut-client packages.
it's also untested, but it should suits your needs...
a few instructions:
- install it as usual (rpm -ivh ...rpm)
- build the package using : rpmbuild -bb /usr/src/redhat/SPECS/nut-ivt.spec

you'll get the result in /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i386/
days are getting rapidly shorter now, leaving not enough sunlight to
charge the batteries to a level required to keep the server running.
so I better hurry ;-)
