Hi,

I have a small home-use UPS for my home server from powerwalker
(http://powerwalker.com/de/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=63&Itemid=106
sorry I only found a german version).

It has a USB and a serial connector. lsusb lists it as "06da:0003 Phoenixtec
Power Co., Ltd", in /proc/bus/usb/devices it sais "Manufacturer=OMRON"
and "Product=USB UPS".

The devices isn't listed at the nut homepage, so I started to try the usb
drivers. With bcmxcp_usb I get some response:

# /etc/init.d/upsdrv start
 * Starting UPS drivers ...
Network UPS Tools - UPS driver controller 2.0.3
Network UPS Tools - BCMXCP UPS driver 0.10 (2.0.3)

Can't open POWERWARE USB device, retrying ...
Can't open POWERWARE USB device, retrying ...

So it seems to be recognized as Powerware device. Permissions shouldn't be the
problem, as I updated them and also
# upsdrvctl -u root start

gives me the same result.

I also tried the bestups serial driver, but without luck (do I need some
special kernel options for the serial device? Never used that one before).

Using nut-2.0.4-r1, the latest in Gentoo portage.

I you know any help, I'd appreciate that. However this is only a home-size
not-at-all critical thing, so I could live with a 'we've got more serious
business to do.' ;)

Regards,
Michael
