[Nut-upsuser] Shutdown problem with Geek Squad GS1285U

Maybe I'm confusing your kernel panic with someone else's. I thought
the last one said "tainted", but this one doesn't. So it's probably
the open-source nVidia driver, not the binary 'nvidia-glx' package
from nVidia themselves.

As for SMP, I don't have a way to test this here, but if you boot with
an i386 kernel, it should disable SMP.
