Looks like the driver did not start up.

As an aside, I have been trying to drop the Debian bug address from
the reply list because your issue seems to be separate from the mmap
issue, and I don't see a need to cross-post.

If there are other issues with NUT that Debian developers would
consider to be "upstream issues", it will probably be less confusing
if you keep the discussion to one of the NUT lists.
